Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA) is a contributory organization established by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic.
Our task is to:
Inform
We raise awareness about energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and innovations in all fields of economy and provide expert consulting in those areas.
Educate
We educate specialists in the area of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.
Monitor and evaluate
We operate the monitoring system of energy efficiency and prepare background materials for annual evaluation of progress towards national targets and action plans for energy efficiency.
Support energy efficiency and innovation
We have been implementing measures supported by EU funds and state resources for 14 years, which are focused on energy demand decrease, introduction of low carbon technologies, competitiveness growth, innovative solutions and smart specialization of economy.
Participate in international cooperation
We represent the Slovak Republic in international projects and institutions.

The Expert group of the European Commission allowing strengthening of interconnections, cooperation and exchange of information related to the implementation of supporting programmes focused on the energy.
European Committee for Standardization – CEN
Technical standardization committees and commissions specialized in energy audits, energy management, energy savings calculation and heating systems in buildings.
Energy Charter Treaty
Ensuring of activities arising from the Protocol on Energy Efficiency and Related Environmental Aspects (PEEREA), which is a part of the Energy Charter Treaty signed in Lisbon in 1994.
History of SIEA
In 1999 SIEA was separated from the Slovak Energy Inspection.
In 2004 it became an implementation agency for EU structural funds.
Since 2007 it has been focused on supporting and developing companies’ innovation potential.
In 2014 it became the only implementation agency of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic.
Since 2015 it has acted as a Technology agency in accordance with the Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation of the Slovak Republic.
In 2016 it became a National agency for the Bohunice Programme, with the aim of decommissioning two units of the nuclear power plant V1 in Jaslovské Bohunice.
